Sutter County encourages special session of Legislature to help state's communities cope with heavy weight of homelessness
After a group of California lawmakers recently urged Governor Gavin Newsom to call a special session of the Legislature to focus on the issue of homelessness, Sutter County's Board of Supervisors weighed in. A letter on behalf of the Board from Board Chair Dan Flores reinforced that earnest efforts by communities across the state to mitigate the impact of homelessness have not stemmed the growing tide of homelessness. It is an issue bigger than any one city or county.
